Pondy.org has shared information about Pondicherry’s people, places, culture and local life since 1998. It now begins a new chapter as a managed initiative of First World Community (FWC).

The beginning
According to the people who look after Pondy.org today, the site began in 1998 as a source of information about Pondicherry.

The earliest archived copy
The oldest copy kept by the Internet Archive, from 3 August 2002, shows a guide to Pondicherry in French and English. The archive recorded the site every year from 2002 to 2018. See the archive
- Today
A new chapter under FWC
Pondy.org is now a non-profit, managed initiative of First World Community (FWC). Alongside the city guide it is growing into a free digital city platform: local shops, food, stays, tours, rentals, delivery by SuperStars and community services.
FWC manages the site now; in its earlier years it was run by others.
A free platform with zero commission

- You pay sellers directly for goods and your SuperStar directly for delivery. The platform is free; the goods and services are not.

- 100% of every delivery fee goes to them; flyer incentives are extra earnings.
